Many of you will have spotted this nationwide campaign launched in Januarywhich aims to get more women and girls out enjoying sport and physicalactivity. This is a great opportunity for your organisation to link to thecampaign and attract more women and girls into canoeing. The number of womennow canoeing has increased by 56% since 2002 – and recent stats from centresshow that 50% of your customers are female, however, women still onlyrepresent 39% of the overall number of people who go paddling each year*. Solet’s take advantage of all the publicity.
There are a number of things you could think about doing, maybe run somewomen only sessions or a Go Canoeing Girls tour! For more ideas take alook at our women and girls page where there are some tips and case studies to view.

If you have any introductory sessions planned or are thinking of running anywomen only sessions, why not advertise them for free on the Women’s SportsNet website and they canbe searched for on the ActivemapX.
In the meantime, just think about what images you have got on your websiteand if you could use more pictures of women/girls. Quite a few providers havetold us that their customers comment on their website photos and the impactthey had on them – ultimately encouraging them to book onto a session.
